Ungrouped Candidates:

Gerard Rennick People First Party

Summary

Website: peoplefirstparty.au
Social Media: FacebookTwitterYouTube
Previous Names: none
Slogans: Putting the People First. Always.
Themes: ideology bad – except our ideology, ours is good
Upper House Electorates: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria & West Australia
Lower House Electorates: Blair, Brisbane, Dawson, Fadden, Fairfax, Farrer, Fisher, Flinders, Flynn, Griffith, Herbert, Maranoa, McEwen, McPhersonMoncrieff, Moreton, Rankin, Richmond, Ryan, Scullin & Wright
Preferences: GRPF is a part of the Australia First Alliance (watch this space, though). Its HTV card for Victoria directs above-the-line voting, with itself and the HEART Party first. Libertarians are at 2, followed by Family First, Citizens Party, Trumpet of Patriots and One Nation.

Indigenous – Aboriginal Party of Australia

Summary

Website: www.indigenouspartyofaustralia.com
Social Media: FacebookTwitter
Previous Names: none
Slogans: For a voice IN parliament
Themes: Justice and equity for Indigenous Australians
Upper House Electorates: New South Wales, Queensland & Victoria
Lower House Electorates: Durack, Lingiari & Parkes
Preferences: The IAPA has only provided a preference card for the QLD Senate, but it’s unlikely their preferences would differ that much. So, we have Socialist Alliance at 2, followed by Legalise Cannabis and Australia’s Voice at 3 and 4. Fusion come in at 5 and the Greens at 6. Mostly left-leaning parties, which isn’t terribly surprising. And it gives some idea of how they might vote outside of their declared policies areas.

FUSION | Planet Rescue | Whistleblower Protection | Innovation

Summary

Website: www.fusionparty.org.au
Social Media: FacebookTwitterYouTubeInstagramTikTokMastodon
Previous Names: Last time around, they were the Climate Change Justice Party, Pirate Party, Science Party, Secular Party of Australia, and Vote Planet before they, ahem, Fused. For this election, they have added the Australian Progressives and Democracy First to the roster.
Slogans: A grassroots movement with big ideas
People like you
Let’s stop and actually reverse global heating
Themes: As above: Planet Rescue, Whistleblower Protection and Innovation
Upper House Electorates: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria & West Australia
Lower House Electorates: Adelaide, Bennelong, Berowra, Cowper, Dunkley, Hindmarsh, McEwen, Makin, Melbourne & Wills
Preferences: Not yet provided, but their website does give this statement of intention regarding them:
Fusion will recommend preferences based on other candidates’ alignment with our vision and principles. Fusion aligns with other parties that value action on the climate emergency, integrity in politics, pragmatic solutions to a stronger economy, justice, equity, and social responsibility.
It’s fair to say that we do not regard the current government as good or effective, and have created the party to provide voters with an alternative that reflects their views.

HEART Party

Summary

Website: heartparty.com.au
Social Media: FacebookInstagramTelegramTwitterYouTube
Previous Names: Informed Medical Options Party & Involuntary Medication Objectors (Vaccination/Fluoride) Party
Slogans: Real Change Needs a Brave HEART
Issues at the HEART of All Australians
Themes: Anti-vaccine, pro “natural” therapies, and just a whiff of conspiracy theory.
Upper House Electorates: Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland & Victoria
Lower House Electorates: Bennelong, Canberra, Eden-Monaro & Lindsay
Preferences: The HEART Party is a member of the Australia First Alliance group of far-right parties. Untangling the preference swaps in this Alliance is a nightmare, and Great Australian Party spokesperson William Bay’s accusation that the Libertarians have done secret deals with the Liberal Party has seen several vocal supporters hurrying to Instagram and Facebook to post videos exhorting followers of HP to abandon the Libertarians. At this point, all I can tell you with any certainty is that – inexplicably – HP is advising voters to preference People First ahead of their own candidates.
